The terpene blends in our tinctures were developed by Dr. Ethan Russo. Dr. Russo is a board-certified neurologist and a pioneer in cannabis, terpene and psychopharmacology research. We never use synthetic terpenes in our products.
We use organically grown Hemp and avoid harsh solvent residue by using CO2 Extraction, a cleaner, more efficient process.
FAQs
Product Use
If you have not used CBD products, it is suggested that you start with half a dropper of CBD tincture. As CBD rarely has adverse consequences, you can increase the dosage to three droppers per day.
Treating severe symptoms of any disorder should be in consultation with your physician. Give yourself a reasonable period of time to consider both dosage and effectiveness.
What is the Difference Between CBD Capsules and CBD Tinctures?
Essentially the only difference would be individual preference though some differences do exist. It is suggested that water soluble CBD, the form used in our capsules, is more quickly absorbed by the body. Some current research has supported this idea but no definitive result has yet proved this to be true. Absorbability of both tincture delivery and capsule delivery can be considered to be similar.
Capsules delivery avoids the taste experience encountered with CBD which some Users find not to their liking. Capsules do not leak or spill.
Using a powder also makes it possible to add other ingredients that will not mix with an oil solution. Our capsules can include some traditional medicinal herbs as part of their formulation.
In the end, the CBD absorbtion for either tincture or capsule should be viewed as equally effective with User preference being the greatest deciding factor.
Capsule Ingredients
CannaSorb® (Cannaboate 80) Polycannaboate-80, is a plant compound extracted entirely from CBD by a patented process that allows a fat-soluble material to change its chemical structure and be converted into a water-soluble compound.
CannaSorb is fully bio-available to the body and due to its water soluble nature is quickly absorbed, usually within 10-15 minutes after ingestion.
Satival™ is the Trademarked process that creates flowable powders from cannabinoids, terpenes and herbal ingredients with no chemical or synthetic presence
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid that your body naturally produces. The body uses it to produce serotonin. Low serotonin levels can lead to depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Increasing serotonin levels will have multiple benefits for mood issues.
What do Terpenes taste like?
Some people might notice a mild presence of terpenes in the tincture formulation. Most do not. As a pleasant counterbalance to any possible taste issues, Intervene uses fresh, natural, botanical flavors as offsets, bringing a floral and herbaceous taste to create a positive experience.
Why add terpenes to CBD Oil?
Terpenes are Nature’s powerhouses and with their unique abilities and characteristics they significantly contribute to the many therapeutic benefits found in CBD. By example, terpenes in the Hemp plant that have anti-inflammatory abilities are extracted along with the cannabinoids and give CBD oil much of its anti-inflammatory effects. Terpenes having sedative qualities give the restive, calming effects Users rely on. So, if you increase the terpenes with the particular characteristic helpful for the symptom you want to focus on, for example, sedative or pain releiving, you can increase the ability of CBD Oil or Capsule to better target and releive that symptom. Making CBD even better,
Can you take too much CBD?
CBD has low toxicity and rarely has adverse consequences. You can take three droppers per day increasing the dosage depending upon your outcome. Increasing the dosage beyond this amount should be done under a physicians guidance as unresponsive symptoms can be an alert to other significant issues requiring medical intervention.
Why do we include <0.03% THC in our Products?
Research involved with studying the Entourage Effect suggests that the small amounts of THC in the Hemp plant, <0.03%, greatly contributes to the broad benefits of CBD. By acting together with all the other cannabinoids and phyto-compounds, its presence heightens the medicinal benefits of the CBD by its interaction with them. For this reason, we decided to use Full Spectrum Hemp Extract that keeps all the plant compounds together just as Nature intended.
Will <0.03% THC Produce a Psycho Active Experience?
No, it will not. CBD is often confused with the marijuana plant leading to many misconceptions that taking CBD produces the same effect. The Hemp and marijuana plant are a variation of the same type of plant, cannabis sativa, but their chemical components are different and produce different effects.
CBD produces no psychoactive effects and is accepted by the US Government as not being psycho-active or having the potential to be psycho-active. The trace amounts of THC in the Hemp plant are not a detectable physical experience but, the small amount that is naturally occurring is thought by researchers to aid in the overall therapeutic outcome by participating in the “entourage effect”.
Why is CBG Included in Our Balanced Well-Being Tincture?
Current research into the benefits of CBG is limited to date but it does show potential as a therapeutic and protective agent in the treatment of metabolic disease, a combination of insulin resistance, diabetes, obesity and hypertension.
Studies have also shown that CBG has neuroprotective potential to reduce the severity of neurologic illnesses, Huntington disease (HD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson disease and multiple sclerosis. CBG was found to be among the most potent cannabinoids tested against antibiotic resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus. Cannabigerol has been explored as a therapeutic for gastrointestinal diseases like colorectal cancer and colitis.
Why is CBN Included in Our Quiet Rest Tincture?
Research into the therapeutic benefits of CBN is preliminary and the abilities of CBN are often anecdotal. But early studies suggest that CBN is a powerful sedative and that CBN can prolong sleep time. Some research has indicated that CBN’s sedative effects are amplified when it interacts with THC. Studies also support that CBN has analgesic or pain-relieving capabilities in the body.
What are the benefits of CBD?
Current research into the benefits of CBD suggests that it acts on multiple levels in the body. Some are briefly outlined here and are offered as informative only and not as medical advice. If any symptom is of particular interest, more detailed information is available in multiple sources.
CBD entered mainstream medical use with the introduction of Epidiolex, a CBD based drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat seizures resulting from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome—two rare forms of epilepsy—in patients over the age of 2 years.
CBD is most used for its ability to calm, reducing anxiety and symptoms of depression. Additionally, some studies suggest CBD helps to lessen symptoms of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Current research shows that CBD oil has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help lessen the suffering of chronic pain.
A 2006 study in the United Kingdom found that Sativex, a CBD based botanical drug, delivered significant improvement in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It was also found to have a pain-relieving effect as well as abilities to suppress disease activity. Canada approved Sativex for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, related neuropathic pain and for cancer pain that did not respond to other medications.
There are several research studies that suggest CBD can have neuroprotection effects against Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Research into ALS conducted in 2019 suggest that these patients can benefit from the entourage effect created by the combination of THC and CBD. Patients in the study reported high levels of satisfaction in the reduction of muscle tightness and stiffness.
The use of topical CBD has proved effective in a US study of patients having chronic pain. In a 2020 study, patients receiving CBD topically for symptoms of peripheral neuropathy showed a significant reduction in intense pains and itchy sensations.
